What Constitutes a Personal Attack?

  • Racial, sexual, homophobic, ageist, religious, political, or ethnic epithets directed against another member.
  • Using a member’s affiliations as a means of dismissing or discrediting the member’s views.
  • Using a member’s personal appearance (or that of someone in the member’s family) as a means of dismissing or discrediting the member’s views.
  • Threats of legal action. TCOYF management will not address legal issues; we encourage you to use your own judgment should you feel the need to involve authorities or legal counsel. Any such action should not be discussed within TCOYF's forums.
  • Any harassing, abusive or hateful posts will be construed as personal attacks:
  • Harassing posts are those that are written with the intent to irritate or torment persistently, or to wear out over time.
  • Abusive posts are those that bash or mistreat other users. It IS possible to attack an idea (and your ideas can be attacked), but you cannot attack another individual for their ideas.
  • Hateful posts are those otherwise deemed by TCOYF management to be inappropriate due to their hurtful nature.
  • Referring, either directly or indirectly, to a member or a member's behavior as trolling.
  • Impersonating another member, including creating a member name, user profile or otherwise referring to another member or member's name in a mocking, harassing or antagonizing manner.
  • Posting a link to an external source that implies any of the above about a member.
