Some will say it is a sign of low progesterone, but my doctor advised me that as long as my temperatures were staying above the coverline, progesterone was not an issue. In your case (as in mine), your temperatures (with the exception of two) are well-above the coverline. I think it might be a different situation if the temps were hovering right at the coverline for the LP?
I think a lot of people of quick to jump on the "low progesterone" theory (like me, originally) because from what I understand, supplements are relatively easy to get. However, I also think it's risky to "self-medicate" with progesterone supplements if they aren't necessary, but that is my own personal opinion - everyone is entitled to her own! You can always have your doctor test it.
For me, the cause of my spotting is probably an abnormal pap/pre-cancer cells surgery (well, two surgeries) I had years ago that caused a little damage to my cervix. I've ruled out BCP, stopping BCP, prior ovarian cysts, and prior fibroids as causes. I get A LOT of spotting in the LP, and unfortunately, that is just "normal' for me. I even had a TON of spotting in the LP when I got my BFP, but the great news is that it didn't stop me from getting the BFP. There have been many, many women on this site who have lots of LP spotting who still got pregnant. I guess my best advice would be to have your doctor test it if you're concerned, but just know that for some women, LP spotting is just the norm.
Thank you very much for the very detailed post. I have testing scheduled with my dr next cycle. I've heard that B-Complex vitamins help with spotting in the LP. Have you tried that? If it's not my progesterone, it could be my cervix; I had a dynamic cervix w my DD.
These look just like my own, except mine do go just below the coverline every other day or two, and the LP is short with spotting starting at 7days. Thanks for sharing and thanks Michelle for your comments too. My Dr will do the 7DPO test but it fell on Saturday when they were closed so maybe next month. Good Luck!
