Before using the Internet Assistance feature, you must set up your e-mail address within the program. Optionally (and for best performance) you should set up your mail server, as well. TCOYF can find your e-mail address and mail server information automatically if you are using Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express, Pegasus, Eudora, Eudora Lite, or Netscape mail. To setup your e-mail address and mail server, click Edit in the main TCOYF menu, then select Preferences from the list of options. You will see something like this within the General tab:
Unlock the window by clicking the lock (you will see it unlock when you do this) and if you know your e-mail address AND mail server, go ahead and enter it in the spaces provided. If you don't know your mail server, then click the Find It! button to launch the E-mail Account Wizard. If you are using one of the previously mentioned e-mail programs that TCOYF recognizes, you will see a screen similar to the following:
You can simply check the box next to the program you wish to copy your e-mail settings from and TCOYF will import the mail server and e-mail address from the specified e-mail program when you click Close. If you get to this point, you are finished setting up your e-mail program. If you don't see this screen, then you should continue reading on. If you are an AOL user or don't have a supported e-mail program, then you may see a screen similar to the following:
You should record your e-mail address in the box provided and then click Close. TCOYF will then attempt use our own mail server to send your mail, but there are no guarantees that this will work. If you are an AOL user, however, you really don't have any other options short of changing ISPs, as AOL does not provide standard mail servers that other programs can access. If you need further assistance with setting up your e-mail program, please contact your ISP, or you can send an e-mail to support@tcoyf.com with your question and we will do our best to assist you. |
