AOL and Spam Filtering

AOL is committed to eliminating junk e-mail ("spam") from its users in-boxes, however, they can be a little overzealous in their implementation of it. They do not run "intelligent" spam filtering, they just let you indicate which domains ("dot com" addresses) are acceptable and eliminate the rest.

If you have e-mail filtering turned on for your screen name and send us requests for support, we cannot reply to you. When we do, it gets "bounced" back by the AOL mail server.

This makes our job of supporting you extremely difficult, and completely eliminates your ability to get answers to your questions. To avoid this, prior to sending requests for assistance please make sure that your filtering is either turned off or ensure that you've added us to your list of acceptable domains.

Reviewing your Settings and Fixing the Problem

You can add the domains "tcoyf.com" and "ovusoft.com" as acceptable domains from which you receive e-mail. Here's how:

At the "Keyword" prompt in AOL, type "mail controls" and press the enter key. It will bring up a window similar to the following:

Click the "Setup Mail Controls" graphic in the lower right corner. When you do this, it will bring up something similar to this window:

Select an appropriate option from the settings on the left hand side. Please note that you will need to select an option that permits mail from "Internet domains", as you will need to add ours to the box at the right.

Where it says "Type domain or e-mail address here:" type "ovusoft.com". Then click the "Add" button. Then click "OK". Then repeat this for the domain "tcoyf.com".

Now you can send us e-mail that we can respond to.

You can also create a screen name that is used exclusively for receiving mail from other sources. Please refer to your AOL program documentation for more details.
