Pretty much anytime I'm not seeing the RE. I have PCOS and sometimes ovulate on my own, but it's rare and extremely frustrating. I hope you find some answers and get some help from the dr. Joylene, c25k is going pretty well. We bumped up to the week 2 plan and I actually made it! It's been a few days since we've gone now though. I haven't had any time after work since Monday. We'll probably start back up tomorrow. How's it going for you? That's great that you are still going to the support group. And I'm so glad that you feel a little better because of it. AFM: My temps have been all over the place this week. I haven't been sleeping well, so that's probably why, but still frustrating when gearing up for time! [&:] I went to acu last night and she did cupping to relieve the tension in my back and shoulders. It was FABULOUS. I felt so good after and slept pretty well too. [tu] I'm so glad I found my acu. I her!

Can anyone tell me about ovarian cysts?

I had a couple of HUGE cysts that were diagnosed in March - last year when I was TTC. One was 5 cm the other was 7 cm. It wasn't until June until they had shrunk enough that the RE felt okay with trying another IUI round. They were still there, but they weren't as big. I took BCP for one of the months, but didn't find that it made a big difference. My RE said that he usually just waits for them to go away on their own. They were painful and *I* think it delayed my period the first month it was diagnosed.

Sorry it's not much info; but that was my experience.

I can't wait to hear good news from you all!!

Just figured I'd bump us up before we fall of the page. Our closet's done and now I'm on to arranging the bathroom. DH is painting away and will install our sink later. It's so rewarding to be doing the things that can actually done quickly. I think I thought we'd never get to this point!

Rox – I’m glad they found something that might be causing your repeat losses. That’s always a good step toward finding a solution. If you get a chance, can you PM me and tell me where your RE is? I’m getting a 2nd opinion (more below), and am wondering if it’s the same practice.

Cheri – Great for you on the sugar! I’m going to my first acu appt in a few weeks, so depending on what they say I might be there with you.

MJ – I’m glad things are moving right along for you! And nope, I don’t do any baby stuff, but I don’t think it’s bad to. I think everyone deals with TTC in different ways. I have a friend who started a hope chest with baby things, and that makes her happy. Me, I’ve gotten to the point that I prefer not to see any reminders in our house.

OK, I don’t think I missed anyone, but if I did hi!!!

AFM:

Wow, lots of catching up to do.

Work: That TV commercial script my partner and I presented got picked as the one to move forward with, so unless something falls through we get to make a commercial! We’re really excited. Rumor was we’d get to film in California (ooh!) or Portland (ahh!), but turns out it will be here in the fabulous Chicago suburbs instead. Not as exciting, but it’s still such a great opportunity. Our new business pitch kept me really busy until Wed., when I had a much-needed day off.

Acu: Finally made an appt for later this month! I just really felt like I had to do SOMETHING different. Unfortunately, it seems like my otherwise awesome insurance doesn’t cover it. I feel like I can only afford to go 2 or maybe 3 times a month since we’ll be paying out of pocket. How often do you acu-ers usually go? Does that seem like enough?

RE: Well, RE said he wants to wait another cycle and see what my cyst does (we were planning on taking July off in terms of TTC anyway). His hope is it will finally go away on its own. He also saw a “funny little circle” in my uterus on the u/s the tech did and made me take a home pregnancy test. It was neg., which I new it would be. He said it might have just been fluid in the uterus, but we’re doing another check in a few weeks and I’m going to make the appt. with him rather than the tech. Also, I can’t remember if I posted this, but he thinks our best bet is to try again naturally and hope for a good egg. He said we could do Clomid or Injectables if we want to, but that European studies have shown that more eggs generated artificially with drugs don’t necessarily cause better results, and I do get pg. pretty easily on my own, which he says isn’t the norm at my age. Which leads me to…

RE #2: We’re getting a 2nd opinion on August 4. It was referral from my gyno, but this new place and my current RE are where most people I’ve talked to in this area go so I was thinking of talking to someone there anyway. DH and I had decided we were done with this one egg at a time business since it so hasn’t worked for me, and I really need to hear from a 2nd person that he agrees (or doesn’t agree) that trying again naturally is the best course of action before we move forward.

That’s about it! I went with a friend and saw an awesome Billy Joel/Elton John concert at Wrigley Field last night. It made me a little sad, though, b/c when I first told her I had gotten her tix for her b-day I was pregnant and joked that she could go w/someone else if she wanted since it would be boring to hang out with an old pregnant lady. I’ve also been avoiding Grads more than usual (sorry, Grads!). My EDD for my pregnancy that ended in earlier this year was Sept. 1, and it keeps getter harder and harder the closer we get to that date. That really was the only pregnancy I’ve had that looked like it could really happen for any length of time, and I kept thinking how great it was going to be to give birth right by my b-day in early Sept. But I’m trying not to dwell on it (too much).

Sandra, Congrats on having your ad picked! [tu] It sounds like a 2nd RE opinion is a good idea. [hug][hug][hug][hug][hug][hug][hug] for your EDD coming up. It really sucks. As far as acu - I go about once a week, but I don't think every other week is bad either. It's been really beneficial for me mentally as well as physically. Trying to rest a lot this weekend as I have a crazy busy week next week. Although tonight have to go to a cookout with people affiliated with dh's work. One of the girls is really hard for me to deal with - she always asks about our IF in group settings and is very insensitive about it. I really wish she could keep her [x] mouth shut. Last time she ended up talking about her pregnancies, her children, and our friend's pregnancy the entire time. So hoping I can try to avoid her and have a decent time.

Sandra - I will PM you about my RE (#1 is the same guy that JJ used to see too so it is a small world). I agree with getting a second opinion and wanting to give more than 1 a try. I'd say most REs would suggest doing some type of fertility cycle for those > 35. That is so cool you went to see Billy and Elton. We listened to the concert outside our house (we are about 5 blocks away) but plan to go closer for Tuesday night's concert (probably to a bar like Murphy's)...[hug]'s on approaching your FDD. I have a hard time with my first one too because it went the farthest and the m/c was such a surprise (but then again I was blissfully ignorant back then so of course I didn't see it coming).

Amy - yay on the house coming along - will you post pictures when it is done?

JJ - yay on your coming to play!

Joylene - hats off to you for going to the cookout! I hope you successfully avoided that girl ! Lora, ugh. I'm sorry you had to work Saturday. Things slowing down a little for you yet? Hopefully soon.

Joylene, hope your cookout was better than expected and you avoided the annoying girl. How's the C25k going for you? We just wrapped up the 2nd week plan. We did the first week for 2 weeks or so. My RE said it looked like I lost some weight. [tu] So, it must be working! I have a hard time breathing sometimes though - my nose gets stuffed up. I bet it has been no fun doing it with your sinus issues! Glad your surgery is almost here!

AFM: With my crazy temps and negative OPKs, I finally broke down and went in for some monitoring this morning. The RE did an u/s and found a single good size follie on my right side. He went ahead and gave me a trigger shot and we'll get some in for the next 2 days. Didn't seem like my body was going to do it on its own. [shr] Whatever. I did talk to him about the trigger shot not working last time and he said it happens. They'll just use the ovidrel on me from now on. [tu]

I'm not sure how much longer we'll be going to the RE. We've been doing a lot of talking about our options and we really want to pursue the AAI adoption program. BUT we need to pay off some debt first so we can afford to do it. Unfortunately that means we need to seriously save some money for the next year. And that is a really long time and freaks me out, but I know we need to do it. We may continue to do some kind of cycles, but the chances of me ovulating on my own are pretty slim. I'm working on losing some weight and hoping that will help. [fc]

Oh, and the big news... WE FINISHED OUR FOSTER APPLICATION! Hooray! I can't believe I almost forgot that part. We completed the last form last night and we will sign all the pages tonight, make copies tomorrow and deliver the entire thing to the DCF office! EEEEKKK! Next up: homestudy. It's a huge relief to be through that initial part. Most people don't take as long as we did, but I think we just had too much going on at once.
