My husband and I are going to try to start getting pregnant this month. I am curious to those of you who have gotten pregnant using TCOYF charting methods -- how long did it take? Also feel free to include your age and any other issues that have affected you getting pregnant.
I am not pregnant, but am hoping to get pregnant soon. I am 35 and have hypothyroidism that seems to be well treated.
Two and half years, but we had some IF factors on both sides.

We were very lucky and got pregnant on our first month charting. We were married in november and did not try not to get pregnant that month but we officially started and were sucessful in december. It can happen quickly.

DS was conceived on the first month. We weren't charting, and we were meeting half-way around the world for DH's mid-deployment break. We planned the dates around my expected ovulation based on inaccurate information from my GP (she insisted all women have a 14 day luteal phase, so since my cycles for 6 months had been 26 days, she insisted it meant I ovulated early). Luckily, we managed to catch the egg (after 6 months apart, we definitely BD'd often enough ;)).
This little girl was also conceived on the first month. I had been charting as birth control for 7 months before we were ready to stop not-trying ;) We weren't actively trying, but not actively avoiding. Since I started charting I found that I actually ovulate around days 16-18 with an LP of 10 days, so my eggs must just travel fast ;)
We joke that we come from very fertile families... :)

I went off b/c in September 2010, started charting in December 2010, and conceived in September 2011. However, we didn't actively start trying to conceive (timing intercourse, using pre-seed, etc.) until May 2011. So, one year off of b/c, 9 months charting, about 5 months actively trying.
I'm 24 (23 when I conceived), was on b/c for 5 years, no known fertility issues, no previous pregnancies or children.

I swear by TCOYF for us! I have PCOS and I take metformin which helps me to ovulate. I have longer than average cycles. With DS it only took two cycles of charting before falling pregnant, my second pregnancy ended in miscarriage but only took one cycle after having my son and finishing breastfeeding. I have just discovered I am pregnant again, the second cycle after my miscarriage in October. All that from someone that they said would never conceive naturally!
While trying we also use a sperm safe lubricant called forelife fertility care. I guess it's a bit like preseed, only the Aussie version and much cheaper.
Good luck!

I have ovulated 3 times since starting to TTC in August 2008 and have gotten pregnant all 3 times. We were only actively charting for the last baby though. I started reading the book shortly before conceiving the second time so I was aware of "how it works" and this probably helped.
Good luck! I seem to hear often that the average time for healthy couples with no health or fertility issues and well-timed intercourse is 6 months. I hope it happens quickly for you!

Oh, and I conceived at ages 26 and twice at 28. I am now 30 and I hope we have the same ease with #3! No health issues with either of us.
I am so incredibly blessed to say that we have hardly had to try. Our first baby we tried for 3 months, but I wasn't using TCOYF yet. But I will say that it is SO fun learning about your body and that moment when you know for sure you've ovulated it pretty neat :)

My first pregnancy took a while to achieve. The main reason was that we had timing issues due to DH's back problems. Then my hypothryoidism was discovered when we started prepping for IUI (BDing wasn't an option at that point) I got pregnant on the first IUI, which was two months after going on levothyroxine. I was also doing acupuncture.
With my current pregnancy, we got pregnant the first month we started trying again. That was the result of a vacation and lots of BDing (DH's back is healed!) I also did female balancing yoga for ten months, but no acupuncture.

two and a half years, and we were only successful because we did IVF. I have hypothyroidism and DOR. DH has slightly viscous semen. But I think charting gave me insight into my issues and helped me advocate for myself. Took me maybe a year and a half to get someone to treat my borderline HT and then to get on the right med and dose.
I had two anovulatory cycles after going off of the pill, which I'd been on for about 12 years. The 3rd cycle I ovulated and got pregnant, so technically, only 1 month of TTC I think I'm 27 and DH is 28. Potential fertility issue due to a varicocele, but clearly wasn't a problem this time.
We seem to be very fertile here... DD1 we were actually avoiding, but I d early and caught the eggie from DTD 6 days prior. DD2 was the first after giving birth (BFing spacing). DS was also essentially the first chance after giving birth (again BFing spacing) - I had a few s, but the LPs weren't long enough at first.

You sure you want my answer? It isn't pretty.
I have secondary infertility. We know that I have high testosterone but that alone isn't enough to give a very definitive diagnosis. I have a loose diagnosis of PCOS, though my RE classified me as unexplained.
ds#1 - 0 months, we weren't TTC. I was 21, no fertility issues.
ds#2 - 25 months, and only got pregnant because we did injectable fertility drugs and IUI. I was 24.
ds#3 - only 8 months, because we jumped into fertility treatments right away. I was 26.
dd (this baby) - 40 months with a lot of failed fertility treatments. Stopped seeing the RE about 18 months before I finally conceived because he told me that the only way I was ever going to get pregnant was to do IVF. As time went on, it seemed he was probably correct and we started looking into adoption but still kept at TTC (only without fertility treatments.) I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant and still in shock that I got pregnant. I don't understand how it happened but I'm thrilled! I am 32, was 31 when I conceived.

3 amazing sons, Natalie Grace arrived 2/12/2012 at 2:18 AM. 6 lb 13 oz!
I'm a "realist" (DH says realist = pessimist), and DH is an optimist. He kept "planning" our future, saying we'd get pregnant in February (first TTC) so the baby would be born in November. Well, I had to explain to him that it just doesn't happen that way. It usually takes months or even years - after all, it had taken my very healthy, younger sister a year to get pregnant. I'm 35, and I've had gyno problems my entire life.
Well, then, we actually DID get pregnant on the first TTC cycle in February 2011?! I was shocked!!! Sadly, we had a miscarriage which ultimately required a D&C two months later, but then we got pregnant on the first cycle we were allowed to TTC post-m/c (August/September 2011)?! It is uncanny.... Two pregnancies on the first TTC try? I still can't believe it. (This pregnancy is going GREAT too, which is even more of a blessing!)
I KNOW that TCOYF helped a lot because the info in the book was all new to me. Plus, I am very detailed-oriented and I studied and memorized almost every single little detail and discussion in the book. We definitely knew how to read the signs, so we BD-ed at the right times per TCOYF. Beyond that, I'm not sure if this is my reward for decades of gyno problems and multiple surgeries and chronic spotting issues, or if DH just has "super-swimmers," or if this is just my husband's optimism "winning out" over my "realism," or if God just really wants us to have a child quickly...? Regardless, we know how very, very, very, very fortunate we are because it doesn't happen this way for most people, so we don't take it for granted for a single second! I guess the point is that you just never know?
One quick other thought - our friends got married last month and used BC on their honeymoon because it's a little soon for them to have children, just getting married and all. Well, guess what - they got a BFP this week?! When it's meant to happen, it'll happen?
I'm 36, DH is 34. We've been very happily married since 2009. We have 2 very small cats - they are our children!
1st BFP 1st cycle TTC 02/2011, but 04/2011 (& D&C 06/2011). (No heartbeat at 8-week appt, m/c at 11 weeks.)
2nd BFP 1st cycle TTC once allowed (08/2011-09/2011). Baby # 1 due 5/23/12 but C-section (due to prior abdominal myomectomy) will be approximately 5/16/12.
We are truly blessed in so many ways!
My chart: http://www.tcoyf.com/members/Michelle763/charts/default.aspx
Overall, 16 months (11 cycles, but I was pregnant for 3 of the 11). But I went off the pill at the end of March 2010, got pregnant in August (3rd cycle off the pill), but miscarried (was 28 when I O'd, 29 when I got the BFP). Got pregnant again in December of that year but miscarried again. Only one cycle in between those two losses, and that was cycle 5 off the pill. Then it took another 6 months or so (6 cycles) to get pregnant with this one (just before I turned 30). RE wanted us to wait a few cycles, so we were only really trying for 3 cycles before it worked. When I write it out like this, it doesn't sound as bad, time-wise.
We were charting the whole time, luckily! Because my cycles are crazy long and I still don't think I would be regulated after being off the pill. I found TCOYF before I went off the pill, I just wish I would have actually gone off it much sooner! Anyway, good luck!!
