So I was in the checkout line at my local supermarket chain by myself today. The store manager was walking by and saw me. I might have talked to this man once - months ago, but I remember seeing him walking around the store before. He says to me, "Don't you have a LO?" I was surprised he would know that and told him I did. He goes, "Aren't you always carrying him around in that snuggly thing?" LOL! I told him, yes, I usually carry DS around in my little pouch (sleepywrap or beco) but I left him at home with mommom today. He laughed and said how cute it is when he sees DS all comfy.
I thought it was cute that he remembered me out of so many thousands of people just because I wear DS every time I shop. Then I kinda thought that was a little sad because it made me realize that most other women don't ever carry their babies and that is why I stood out to him... ahhh well it was sweet of him.

That was sweet & cute of him. And I know what you mean. I'm "friends" with a cashier at Aldi since she admires our unique-around-here cloth diapering, babywearing, b/f lifestyle.

How sweet of him! I've had nothing but positive reactions when I wear DD. We always get compliments on how quiet and good she is while shopping and how snuggly and comfy she looks. One of our relatives at a family gathering likes to say "she's got the best seat in the house" b/c she snuggled against my chest
I agree, though. I always wish I saw more mama's out and about with their babies in carriers. We did see one mama at a craft fair with a toddler in a moby and my dad stopped her and asked about it (he's uber friendly with strangers!) and she seemed really eager to talk about how much she loves her moby (I actually had a moby wrap in the stoller at the time (dad wasn't aware), but DD was being held by her other grandpa).

This is so true!
I always wear DS when grocery shopping because it's the easiest way to get it done. I get tons of comments from other shoppers. My favorite is "I wish someone would carry me around like that!"
I even had a woman whose daughter is pregnant stop me and ask where I got my Moby. I was explaining to her how I made it, and she was super-excited, since her daughter is overseas and it's really expensive for her to ship.

That's cute! I live in San Diego and I always see people baby-wearing but the other day I was in Wal Mart and had DS in the Moby. Never have I had so many strange looks! People were rubber necking! You would have thought I was also dressed in African garb and had a clay pot on my head!
I had a Dad with an infant stop and ask me about it and how it worked and stuff. It was super cute! I LOVE shopping in my Moby. He's happy, my hands are free and it's so much quicker! And I can nurse in it - brilliant!
