I'll be the first to post....
Last night I thought something might be happening as I started feeling really sick to my stomach, had some diarrhea and contractions. But after a bath it pretty much fizzled out. I had contractions wake me up a couple times in the night, but nothing too noteworthy. I woke up this morning with my whole body aching. I admit, I cried. I'm just so tired of feeling like this. I'm so anxious to meet my little boy and to feel normal again. As much as I've loved pregnancy, I'm ready to be done. Is that horrible of me??

Sorry Becky that you feel horrible it is hard in the home stretch. I remember going to my ob in the last week's and telling her that I did not "feel right" and she would say well what does'nt feel right and I would say 'I don't know I just don't feel well" I think it was a combination of everything tried of being pregnant and being big and uncomfortable and ready to go. I alway's hear both sides to the pregnancy thing--ready to be done. Some will say you should be grateful you at least can be pregnant. Those that have struggled--yes they may feel it to be selfish--but I disagree. I have had four pregnancy's and they all sucked in some way, it is very hard being pregnant regardless how long you wait to be pregnant. You should not feel bad at all because of what other's might think.
I hope for you an easy labor and a healthy soon to be here babe gl!!

Thanks, mce! It took us 16 months to get pregnant, so I am 150% grateful to have gotten pregnant, but it is definitely hard to remember that in the midst of the aches, sleeplessness and horrible hemmies. And that describes it perfectly...I just don't feel right. :) I know all will be well and I will feel normal once again.
Thanks for the support! :)
37 weeks 2 days! Ready to have my Baby Girl in my arms!!! Getting a little stir-crazy and I've really hit bottom in the exhaustion department (and patience!)
Cervix check showed completely softened, but still high and closed for past two weeks (I'm getting them done, even though I'm having a scheduled c-section, because I live 2 hours from the hospital. You know, just in case she decides to come on her own!) Moderate swelling in toes, feet, and ankles.
Good luck to everyone!
Well I'm jumping into this group as I have less than 3 weeks to go one way or another. 37w1d with baby #1 but the drs will not let me go over my due date since she is measuring small (only 4lb12oz at 36w5d) and appears to be a little lazy in the growing department (but not in the kicking, rolling and poking department). They are monitoring me with NSTs and fluid checks once a week. Hopefully at my 38w appt a week from monday my midwife will do a quick growth scan to make sure she is in fact still growing in there.
I'm feeling a little off. Some weird nausea and not really hungry. Having to force myself to eat in hopes that this baby will grow grow grow! My DH's work is having a little shower for us this afternoon though and he told me there will be gluten-free chocolate cake (I have a gluten intolerance) and I have to admit I'm looking forward to THAT! I've had some lower back pain the last couple days. Otherwise, hanging in there and hoping this LO hangs on at least a couple more weeks. I declined the cervical check at my appt on Monday, I've learned that for me sometimes not knowing is better. I'll get my bag packed this weekend and be ready to go just in case.
Becky- I'm sorry you are feeling horrible, but one way or another it is almost over and as soon as you meet your little one you'll forget all about this part!
GL ladies!

Becky: I had a night like that earlier this week where I woke up all sore from contractions. Tonight I also feel sore and generally crampy and weird... I guess just signs that progress is being made!
Jules: thanks for the support! I am glad your scan seems to just show a smaller baby versus growth issues. I am hoping I get good news also on Monday.
AFM: Well, going into the weekend with the intention of preparing as if Monday is "the day"! I hate having to prepare when it might be nothing... But I guess it forces me to get those last few things done!
Anyone else feeling anxious about labor itself?
Today my DH and I walked for about an hour and a half and have been having contractions ever since we got home. They aren't super consistent though, so I'm hesitant to think they're anything.
I have been anxious about labor and delivery my whole pregnancy until the last couple of weeks. Now I'm just ready and all I can think is "Bring it ON!" I'm ready... :)
Hopefully all of us will get something started this weekend. GL ladies!
Hi girls,
I'm going to jump in as well. I'm due on March 27th but already feeling ready for him to arrive at any time! No, of course, I want him to stay in there as long as he needs to be ready, but ready to be done with the discomfort. He's sitting real low as of a few days ago. My doctor mentioned it as well. Sometimes when he moves or stretches, oh my goodness does it hurt! On the bright side, at least breathing is a bit easier.
As for complaining, well, we adopted our first DC after several years of TTC and failed IVFs. We conceived DD and now this DS after a little over a year of TTC each (plus some natural hormone therapies and diet changes), but I've given myself permission to complain when I'm feeling rotten or having trouble sleeping. I think it's a right of pregnancy!
For those of you who are feeling nauseous or off, that is exactly how I felt the last couple days before I went into labor with my DD. I had an appt at 4pm on a Monday and left the office in tears because I had been feeling lousy, having more contractions that were more than BH, so I was sure she would tell me I was starting labor, but I was only 1cm dilated as I had been 3 weeks earlier. Instead, she scheduled me for an induction for a week later. However, at midnight that night I woke up to contractions, which kept gaining intensity and getting closer together. By 4am we were at the hospital and I was at 4cm. I had her later that day. So, in my case, the lousy feelings were really the beginning.

Hey ladies, I'm not even close yet (just over 36 wks -- keep changing my due date by a day here, one there). I'm just getting bored and a little stir crazy. I've been having those period style cntx off and on and some major ones last night, but my other children came right about on the due date, so I'm not holding out hope of anything early. On the other hand, does anyone know how to tell if amniotic fluid is leaking vice urine leaking out? I had some weird discharge today (sorry, tmi) so I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Hi ladies! At 36.5 weeks, I suppose I qualify for the home stretch
Jill: it's good to hear what you said about feeling off. I've been feeling that way, just not right, but it's been going on for a while now. Who knows. It's probably all in my head.
Becky: I think you have every right to want to be done and meet your little guy, I know I feel that way, do not feel guilty!! Pregnancy is uncomfortable at this stage, nothing wrong with admitting it.
mommy-quilter: Just a few more days of waiting for you, unless she comes on her own. I have some minor swelling as well.. isn't that fun
jules: I hope your little girl is doing lots of growing in there, I have a feeling the chocolate cake helped. Haha, I know it would help me! I've been slowly getting my bag together, I feel like such a procrastinator.
Kat_Eye: So tomorrow is probably the big day!! How exciting!! Definitely keep us posted!
PhillSH: Were they changing your due date because of ultrasounds? My practice said they would not change my due date, but half the people there go by my O date due date and half go by my dating u/s due date. So who knows. I've always heard that subsequent children come faster, so maybe you'll be in for a surprise! I have also had some discharge lately, like I feel wet.. also tmi, sorry. Not sure if there is a way to tell, but I know the doctor's office/hospital can tell with some test they do.
AFM: My OB practice is mostly midwives (and I believe they do most of the deliveries), but they will not do cervical checks (which is fine since I've heard they are very uncomfortable and may not really tell you anything anyway) until you're past 40 weeks. Also, at my last u/s at 34 weeks, his head was measuring way big, so I asked if they would induce before it got to be an issue and she said they don't want to assume there's a problem until there is one. They said they will not talk about induction until 41.5 weeks! AH! I can't wait that long. Haha. I even said, I've had such horrible back pain (mid and upper), that I really don't think I could go that long, she understood and said maybe we'd have that conversation a little earlier. I think I have a pinched nerve in my back and sitting makes it much worse. I haven't had many dreams about labor or delivery or anything, but last night, I had a dream that I was having contractions, so we went to the hospital and we were at the check in desk, they put me on the monitor there and they were really far apart, so they were going to send me home. But then I had 2 within 3 minutes of each other, but then the next was like an hour and a half later. I remember feeling so frustrated in my dream. Lol. I also had a Coke last night, and I've been avoiding caffeine this whole time, but I've never had it affect me. I guess these things get to you after avoiding for so long. I couldn't sleep and then woke up several times throughout the night, not being able to fall back sleep... ugh. I think I'll avoid caffeine with dinner for a while.
Anyway, I keep getting the feeling that he's going to push right through the sac with all the squirming he's been doing. Last night (and in the past week), I had some horrible sharp shooting pains in my lower pelvic area, I would assume it's in the area of my cervix. Maybe it means I'm dilating? Haha, I'll pretend that's the case.
Hope all you ladies have those little babies sooner rather than later!
I'm glad to see this thread so active and that others are jumping in! Yay for all of us due this month!
PhillSH and LBM- I know what you ladies are talking about with the wetness down below... sometimes I feel like I'm leaking too... but I've heard CF really increases the last few weeks. Also, I get the shooting pains in my crotch and down my thighs ALL the time and it started around 36 weeks... and I've heard it can indicate dilation and/or thinning :)
Oh man I woke up around 4:30 am with just intense period-like pains down low and my lower back just killing me. I'm a FTM so I dunno if these are contractions or what?!? My period always started early in the morning and was intensely painful with vomiting and everything (missed work/school once a month for years and had to resort to narcotic pain killers to get through it) and I had a flashback to that when I woke up this morning! They passed after awhile and I'm left with the lower back ache. The heating pad is my best friend. I have had some tightening... some BH, some painful the past 24 hours and my hips feel all disjointed when I walk. I don't know what the deal is but I do finally know why women feel so uncomfortable at the end of pregnancy... this is not fun! I seriously feel like I'm going to start my period... my legs feel sore and tired and heavy like they do before hand and I'm still having that "feeling off" nausea from time to time. I am normally not a complainer and I don't tend to share every little ache and pain, but I did start complain to DH last night and this morning. I think it scared him a bit....LOL... because he knows I'm not one to speak up unless I'm pretty uncomfortable. He headed out to the mountains to go snowboarding today (we live in Denver) but I could tell he was nervous leaving me. I've had such an easy pregnancy with little to no pain so all this has really hit me hard just the last couple days. I'm hoping I feel better in the next 24 hours for going back to work, but I have a feeling it's all downhill from here. I go in for my NST/ AFI tomorrow but it is only a nurse visit. I'll mention all this to her and see what she says. Come baby girl, hang on a little longer!
Becky- I really hope you are in labor by now!
Kat- Will check for an update from you tomorrow... and if there isn't one we'll assume they induced you!
Happy Sunday, Ladies.... grrr... back to work tomorrow.... this is torturous!
I am definitely with you ladies in terms of feeling "off"! The last three days, I have had headaches, nausea, loose stools, lower back pain/menstrual-like cramping, and just sore pelvic area... I also feel like my blood pressure drops a lot (get kind of dizzy/weird feeling). Baby is moving around A LOT, so that is comforting at least...
I am interested to see what tomorrow brings...whether it be inducement, or if they do another cervical check to see if I have progressed any from all of this discomfort!''
Good luck getting things done, ladies! I am going to finish up two things for work right now, just in case...
Well, I'm still here... I woke up in the middle of the night with horrible indigestion and thought that maybe that was the beginning os something, but it went away about an hour later. I'm still having a lot of BH contractions, but I really haven't felt any "real" cx. Well, I guess I don't really know the difference...I've just been having a lot of tightenings in my upper belly that hurt my mid back as well. I think the "real" ones are supposed to be lower? Right? I have no clue. All this waiting is really hard! I wish my water would break so I'd know either way!
Finally getting the chance to post some pictures of Joshua, born on Tuesday! :)
IVF: 6/2011 = ; FET: 4/2013 =
To all the ladies in the homestretch who are feeling uncomfortable, I feel your pain! Hope your day comes soon for all of you! I was feeling really uncomfortable and frustrated, and it was so confusing when I finally went into labor because none of my labor signs were typical. I only ever had menstrual-type cramping, that never became consistent or went away completely, but did eventually become more intense (verified on the monitor at the hospital). We were so confused and unsure what to do, and of course it happened in the middle of the night, which always makes it worse. I told my DH that even though I had none of the textbook signs of labor, it hurt so bad it had to be the real thing. He said to me, "But you're not acting like the women in the video we saw!" Apparently because I wasn't screaming, he wasn't sure I was in pain. ;-)
chrissybits: Apparently because I wasn't screaming, he wasn't sure I was in pain. ;-)
Apparently because I wasn't screaming, he wasn't sure I was in pain. ;-)
LOL!! Congrats!!! Joshua is adorable!! We got the same froggy outfit/hat for our coming home outfit. But I think we'll do the onesie and pants it came with, and of course that hat.. so cute!!
So glad I'm not the only one feeling "off"!
I've started waking up with nausea, and the contractions I'm having on and off have been registering in my sleep, though not waking me up. Baby Girl has definitely dropped, woo-hoo! Lots of pelvic pressure when I stand or walk for too long, and pretty much if I'm on my feet for longer than 5 mintues, I have some contractions, not painful ones, but they are amping up. Oh, and the loose joints! I've got some popping going on in my pelvis when I walk, which is very interesting. Kind of like I'm one mistep from falling apart from the waist down, LOL!
I've got to admit, I'd be super tickled if she decided to come a little early, even though any labor we have still ends in a c-section. We have 11 days left to our scheduled c-section, so at least I know I've only got to go so long!
Chrissybits: Joshua is so perfect. Congratulations!!!!
Kat_Eye: Can't wait to see what happens for you tomorrow. Eeeek!
Chrissy: Congrats! Joshua is super cute!! Man, I sure knew when I was in labor with my first! I kind of skipped early labor and woke up with REALLY painful contractions 2-3 minutes apart that time, so I had no questions!
Mommy_quilter: Sounds promising!!
AFM: Well, ultrasound shows he gained weight (yay!) and is up to an estimate 7 lbs, 1 oz! Amniotic fluid level still on low side, tho - 6.4. So, she said we need to go ahead and get him out while all is still well, but it isn't super urgent (like rush to hospital today). So she basiclaly let me pick the day some time over next few days. So: Thursday, March 8! I am set to go to the hospital that AM... I am actually feeling pretty good about it, because I wanted to hit 39 weeks, and I am glad to know he is still gaining weight/growing, and I also like the idea of knowing that I won't just keep playing this guessing game for weeks (of whether there is an issue and we need to get him out sooner, etc.). So - just days away!
Chrissy- Congrats... love those cheeks! I'm hoping our bubba has some pinchable cheeks! Joshua has plenty! He's adorable!
Mommy quilter- I agree with Kat... does sound promising! But isn't it nice to have an end date set? I'm surprised with how ok I am with that given I was very much of the opinion "she'll come when she's ready"... but now that they've told me I have no choice, I do feel a sense of relief. Kinda surprising.
Kat- Well looks like you got your day... 39 weeks would be fine by me too. Plus the decreasing fluid would worry me enough to say alright let's just get him out! Glad you have a couple days to prepare... that's nice.
AFM- Passed NST with flying colors today! Woohoo! The doc looked at my printout and then at me, then back at the printout and made several comments along the lines of "This kid is going bananas" and " she's bouncing offf the walls" along with a mumble about something I must be feeding her... LOL. AFI was at 8.6 although LO was moving around so much the nurse couldn't measure all the pockets, but we definitely SAW lots of fluid so 8.6 is probably lower than hat it actually is. So all good news. And I'm feeling much better today. No back pain, no cramping. So all around a great day :)
