Cycle 1 over, Happy and Sad.

I started spotting today.  I am on CD 30 and I don't think I ovulated this cycle, although I am not sure because I only started charting half way through.  I didn't really think it would happen the first cycle off birth control, but I was hoping.

I am sad that it didn't happen, but I am also glad this cycle is over.  This cycle was nuts just trying to figure out what was what.  I am chalking the last 30 days up to a learning curve and now I am ready to get serious about the baby making.  Now I just have to wait for Aunt Flo to hurry up and get finished ... seems like baby making is a lot of hurry up and wait.

I am 31 years old and I have gone through five cycles off birth control and I have been told that is normal and probably the healthiest for the baby. The last two cycles brought with them some interesting changes and led me to believe they were pregnancy symptoms, they were not. These included, sore breasts, bloating, nausea, frequent urination, constipation and fatigue. The night before/early morning I got my period in Nov and Dec. I had a fever. I have discovered that this it was just my body getting back to normal after its been tricked by the birth control for nine years. Never going back there. I am excited to be charting for the first time and having a better understanding of what my body is doing. Best of luck to you and be patient, even though its hard.

I was on BC for 16 years. I was on Depo Provera for almost half of that time, then I switched to BCP's and then Ortho Evra -- I went on supervised off label use for the last two (meaning, I would not take a week off to have my period between scripts). I went off in February 2009 and didn't get my first visit from AF until July 2009.  Even after that, my cycle lengths were erratic.  It was very strange to get used to all of the PMS symptoms again and figure out what they do -- or don't -- indicate.  Be patient. 30 days is not too bad for your first cycle of! I think that length is pretty positive. Hang in there. :)
